How to ParticipateThe Bedside Informatics Project is a collaborative development that includes information providers and users as well as experts in informatics. Providers include any individuals and organizations that provide information useful in caring for the patient at the bedside. Users include those who care for patients. You can contribute to the project in one or more of the following areas:
Healthcare IndividualsWe welcome individuals as contibutors to the project as well as reviewers of the project results. Technical PeopleThere are technical issues to be solved in this project including the development of XML schemas, indexing and searching the information, and distribution issues. Contact us if you wish to participate in these areas. ManufacturersWe wish to work with a wide variety of manufacturers to develop a standard format for operator guides, troubleshooting information, warnings, and other product-specific information so it can be exported directly to the bedside. Contact us if you wish to become a partner in this effort. HospitalsWe are looking for sites to test prototypes of our information display. If you have an interest in this topic and are willing to contribute to the evaluation, please contact us. OrganizationsWe welcome collaborations with standards organizations, universities, decision support groups, medical informatics groups, etc. An important part of this project is to be compatible with or adopt existing standards where they will help accomplish our mission.
